The SPC HREF likes your area of Nassau out to NW Suffolk the best. Very similar to growing up in LB from the 70s to 90s. But in recent decades the South Shore has scored more wins than in the old days.

I think we'll be fine on the south shore with arctic air pressing in, even back in the 80s and 90s we did pretty well with these, getting at least 4"

Winter Storm Warning issued for here 3 minutes ago.

IMO Somerset , Middlesex and Mercer Counties which currently only have advisories for 3 - 5 have a 50/50 chance of being upgraded to warnings close to the start of the storm.......

Eastern bergen is under an advisory.

Eastern Bergen ,Eastern Essex and eastern Union should also be under warnings especially since they mention some areas could get 6 inches - they are cutting it to close IMO

It ends up ok.   What it’s doing at 21z I have no idea.  If NAM is right it's going to be bone dry until later in the afternoon tomorrow.

Wasn’t that always the forecast for a late afternoon start?
