That is a cold high pressing in prior. Gonna be a lot of sleet and ZR too. 
 

Even here, looks like some OES well ahead of this the day before. Then we sleet.

Looks like a lot of sleet after a few inches of snow and then a dryslot on GFS. Want that main vort a little further east or have a little more embedded in the flow to our south if we want a bit higher impact. Otherwise it’s kind of a quick shot  of 0.50 QPF and done.

Wow look at the high pressure for next weekend , 1040 to 1050 High over all of Canada as moisture is heading at us.. 1500 mile wide swath of snow across the country

Very cold in low levels. That 900-925 layer is frigid at the beginning despite SE flow in that layer.

It's been a while since we've had that, as long as it's not rain I dont care. With all that high pressure in Canada you'd have to think these trend colder and south.. Time will tell

Going to build a glacier with this look....would be nice to get some snow in between, but frozen is frozen

Ya, Lot of changes and morphing to come on both Thursday and whatever happens next weekend.  At least they’re solidly on the radar right now.
