That would be a dream come true. But it won’t be anyone south the pike . This is going to be excruciating the next few weeks watching CNE on north cashing in . These are the worst patterns to me . I won’t see any snow or ice other than brief at onset or end

I’m actually ok with NNE getting the goods if that’s the way it turns out.  But all this is far from figured out. Be thankful you’ll have something to track, and not just talk about Stein.

A day ago you were saying that there wasnt going to be any precip around.  Now that looks to be incorrect. You may find you’re also incorrect about how this all plays out?

I still think a lot of these will shear out and the month ends up near normal precip

Are you fugging with me John?  That’s been the tenor since early December. So ya..it’ll mute.

yeah.

Actually yeah ... I've been saying all along, so long as the NE Pacific heights keep rebounding high, that's going to make it difficult to get warmth to higher latitudes across the continent.   Suppressing the N/stream south becomes a the correction vector - just meaning the direction the correction will tend to occur.

Funny that he's more right than he probably meant to be... Mexico is North America.  Up to 35 degrees here now

Right, so based on that logic, Mexico should be changed to America - why stop at the Gulf.

It's not based on geodetic distinction..  It's an act of geopolitical signaling and aggression to annex that region by name  - whether it is ultimately petty and not very meaningful or not.

Ha!  If we want to get into geological demarcations based on the fragmentation of the lithosphere, that's going to be rather distabilizing to global harmony - not that there is any of that to begin with...

True. I will say i didn't really like the idea... but do "get it" for where it comes from. Kind of goes along with those from the states that visit a foreign country. Want to sound like an idiot when asked where you're from... tell them America. They say, well which one?? Light showers here currently at 36 degrees

Actually, formally changing the name negates any order to not drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico, because now it's officially the Gulf of America...has nothing to do with grandstanding or aggression...

It's aggression ...

You're talking about the motivation behind it.  The act of doing so, without confer and diplomacy and all the other tacts of "civility" that demonstrate respect for sovereignty,  is absolutely an abysmal act of fuckin aggression.

You know it's exciting when half a page is taken up on a Gulf of Mexico/America discussion.

On the plus side, the EPS continues to be snowier in the mean than any other time this winter....not saying I'm buying it, but I think ti speaks to the realistic potential for some good events in this upcoming pattern....as high variance/high volatility as it may be,
