Yea, I think when the better maps are available in a couple of weeks, it will be a bit larger of an anomaly.

I think you mentioned this previously, and I believe it says it right there on the bottom right of the image, but when saying "the globe is warm", that is specifically with respect to the global climate from 1991 to 2020, correct? WinterWolf
Not trying to change anybody’s ideas…just saying it’s been a below normal winter for alot of the country. And some areas that almost never see cold(very very rarely) were in the deep freeze…and still are. Too bad in SNE, we couldn’t capitalize on it. But other places further south(and a lot further south in some cases) certainly did. It was nice to dee the cold come back.

The southeast def had a pretty cold winter and almost nobody called for it given it was a La Nina....usually SE ridge and mild weather dominates there but not this time. Doesn't affect my squat or anything yet, since I wrap my knees. None of this impairs my heavy lifts yet. Back is still perfect, save for some occasional, mild inflamation down low.

Word of advice, for chest, and bad shoulders stay AWAY from flat/incline barbell press, Go with dumbells instead, thank me later.......

I have a heavy 3-day body part split for my lifting that includes ample core work/stretching for about 30 minutes as a warmup....do abs once a week after legs, too, and then believe it or not, the squats are temendous for that core stability and strength that act as a nice primer to finish off with abs. Its no coincidence that I don't have back issues at 44.

Phil, I haven't done barbell bench press in over 20 years....I have a partially fused left wrist (since Jan 2001) and the surgeon told me I would never lift weights again (hang with 'em, doc), but the dumbells allow me greater range of motion and room for the supination that better positions me to be able to lift heavily with my condition. 1
40/70 Benchmark
You don't need barbell....its ideal to mix it in to maxamize stength, but I'm strong enough.....on my best days I can incline the 105s for about 8...not doing that right now, though....more like 95s. TauntonBlizzard2013
There are definitely signs of breaking towards spring on the models, especially in the extended. Like I said a few days ago, a month from now it could easily be 60 degrees if we catch a few breaks. Im so over the evaporating day 7 snow threats from this winter, and every single snow event underperforming vs forecast, ready for warmth. This winter might just squeak out of F territory to a D-. We are still well below half of our average gear and every event has been a mess and or crapped the bed.
Typhoon Tip
This winter may have been a good example of how ENSO is too heavily relied upon in seasonal outlooks and always has been. About 12 or so years ago ... even NCEP began cautioning in their seasonal outlooks that the polarward indices can at times overpower and lead to break down of the correlations they use - name ENSO as primary - for more N latitudes such as the NP-GL-N OV and NE regions. This season's layout smacks like it was a poor La Nina performer over N Amer.
