GFS cold and stormy from northern stream waves after this week.. 6z run was a weenie run for northern new england, just wave after wave up there..

As interesting as it would be to see PF's Mount Mansfield stake make a run at a record depth, this polar vortex needs to GTFO!  I'm ready for an early spring.

I would settle for 45F, sunny,  and no wind at this point; windiest winter I can remember.

I wish I wasn't right about Thursday shitting the bed....this stretch would be getting pretty epic if I tacked on 20" to what I have now. Some of the bankings on the side of my driveway are like 6'.

that doesn’t look like the back of winter is broken in that depiction, that’s for sure.  She’s gonna torture for a while yet it seems…

Yes she is. It wouldn't be torture though if she could just cough up a major Snowstorm for us. But with the way things keep happening ( when it comes to a pure snow event ), The big ones keep going south. God willing, we'll have a good year as far as having some major snowstorms in the future.

EPS pretty much agrees, GEFS are very cold and snowy starting end of next week..

EPS is flirting with the idea of colder/snowier though…you can see it with the height field near AK trying to link up with western ridge. It’s kind of half-assed, but you can see how it wouldn’t take much to be a lot more.

Thursday is more of the confluence to our northeast. Glad everyone whacked off to -5SD  -AO.

Maybe that is why the piss ant result isn't impacitng us...I haven't looked at this threat in days....however, the phasing failure is attributable to that shitty ridge out west.

The block was just pushing everything south. You’re right in that the PAC wasn’t perfect,  but we could have had a good event if we didn’t have that block sinking south.

It’s been the same thing all season…lean colder in the longer range, and that idea will be more right this winter.   As far as snow…just the opposite unfortunately.  We’re seeing it again now as the colder scenario is again gaining steam in the ensembles.

That thing would have turned up the coast pretty easily.

Yeah even if it wasn’t a perfectly phased HECS, prob easy 8-12/10-15 type event if we didn’t have so much of a train wreck north of Maine. Taps into plenty of gulf moisture.

The core is broke after this week. Just like in summer when in August we have warmth but the big heat is done.

Ya, last year(august of 24) that was certainly the case. But the year before it certainly wasn’t with record breaking heat in September of 23.    But I get what you mean.  But my gut tells me this isn’t gonna be an early spring year this go around.
