Yeah population gets pretty damned sparse in New England above 1500 feet. I’m sure the weather plays part of that too. It’s mostly sickos like us that like the weather at higher elevations over interior New England. Terrain is often rugged too.

Believe me, we love our humble little house, but I tell my family from time to time, how happy I would be up in MPM’s old hood in Shelburne.

powderfreak
4 winters have had a deeper snow depth at the Mansfield stake than today. 66 winters have had a lower snow depth on this date.

January had so much low-density snow in the Killington area that the healthy seasonal snow total didn't really reflect the lack of depth in the woods for a while, but it's truly deep in the woods (and nats) now. dendrite
10.2° Strong wind all night kept us fully mixed. Hopefully this is the last week of the consistently frigid mornings. If this is the high water mark of the pack then I’d like to start melting some of it too. Give me some 35-40/15-20 type days with sun. 1

I think we can put to bed that theory that CC is causing a semi-permanent trough west/ridge east alignment. We'll probably get a decent season before the turn of the decade, which is when we enter a really nice stretch.
