ineedsnow
atleast its something here Regarding potential snow accums before the changeover to rain, we are expecting a coating to an inch north of the MA Pike, but 1-3 inches possible over the Berkshires and Worcester Hills north of Route 2. Minor impacts to the morning commute expected in northern MA, especially over the higher elevations.

weatherwiz
Have to remember that this time of year and in these patterns...whatever MOS has (even NBM because I am still not convinced the NBM is great) to add +5 (at least) to daytime highs...this applies all over the country 1

dryslot
After the next 2 weeks, Let it all disappear, I'll be ready to move on to fishing season but its going to be late this year with the amount of ice out there.

Even down here. Went ice fishing on Great Pond in Cape the other day - less than a mile from the Atlantic - and the thickness of the ice was 16-18". We've hit 50F twice this week, but I'm assuming the ice will be safe to fish this weekend. Can't imagine it being that damaged from a few warm days and PC skies.

Gotta come up in late March or early April. I'm hoping we can stack some snow the next couple weeks to survive the warmups towards the end of the month, but not looking great south of Greenville for that

Only thing that would mess with the ice before the equinox would be a big rain - ice itself would still be okay but the raised pond levels might make it impossible to get onto it.

Getting onto the ice can be issues when its starting to recede from the shoreline, But yes, You would need a heavy rainfall to raise the water table in lakes and ponds and melt the snow on top.

I remember ice fishing and with warm weather still had thick ice, when we packed up to go home the ice near the edges was only about an inch thick, even fell through before, it melts as it freezes from the inside out to the middle.
