As WAR expands, do our snow chances increase? First wave may produce a middling event-solid advisory and possible low end warning for MLK Weekend

Yup beautiful morning, cloudless bluebird sky, no wind, 39.4°

Getting final storm prep done for this WSW - just checked the electric leaf blower & it's good to go...

Time to just see how things develop and play out this afternoon and evening. Decent snow storm for most folks in SNE.

And the mld-atlantic, Philly, NJ, and the NYC area. Finally a I95 event. It's been a long time.

Fair enough. May be just a bit snake bitten from the last few winters of white rain. This year has been much colder than previous few winters

I’m thinking 3-5 for BOS. Could be 6 if it flips a little sooner. 1 hr difference in timing will make a 2” difference. It will be ripping precip between 7-10pm.

Thinking it wise to keep expectations low, the disappointment "stings" a little less.
Then when all is said and done getting more is an attitude change. No foot from this baby except maybe down-east ME.
Based on (meso's) a slight drop in QPF and present temps.

Agree…It will be the most winter like week in a while. Legit snow cover, frigid temps, some blowing snow. Not everything has to be historic to enjoy a good, winter like stretch.

Unfortunately I have a busy day ahead so my window to do that closed. Wal Mart is probably a disaster (and the Wal Mart here is always a disaster on a normal day...it's actually ranked as like one of the top 5 or 10 most violent in the country lol) and I'm sure everyone is at Big Y grabbing bread and milk.

2 things-

1) Just went to Walmart for something quick.  Not busy at all (Gardner MA)

2) Where do you get violence rankings for Walmart?

My girlfriend had mentioned it to me a while back but I thought she was exaggerating a bit...but then recently (like a few months ago) there was a news story (may have been local Springfield station) on it and the Wal Mart here was like somewhere between #5-10 in the country...I want to say it was 5th lol.

In ten minutes sky went from totally clear blue to overcast with that snow look/feel.  Neighbor just texted me to join an impromptu snow party in his barn.  Hope I'm not too crocked when it starts cranking.

I come into your forum just hoping I will see your avatar. Oh, and enjoy the snow.

Yup.  Lots of icing/glaze here last night/this morning despite temps

Yeah, but there was radiational cooling overnight as skies cleared…common black ice recipe. I’m talking FZRA on the driveway despite a 2m temp decently above 32°. That’s how deeply cold the ground surface was.

The two most violent retail stores in this area that I know of are a Walmart in Long Island and the one in Springfield.  This was info from a guy who evaluates real estate for commercial use for firms like Home Depot, Walmart, Target etc.  This was Black Friday only, so not sure how they hold up in general.
