Yay!! I’ve got about 3.5” on the ground, currently at 29.3 with snizzle falling. It’s mostly snow when it gets a little heavier. Sledding is awesome

Something I never thought about, why do the obs often include mist while snow is falling? Like GSO obs currently read "light snow, mist". Is this to do with the visibility?

Yes. Mist decreases visibility. Likewise, there are times in which mist can be freezing as well.

Happy to report almost a foot in Buford Ga. @Gawx can verify this- he's close. I am not great at recording observations, but I'm getting there. Cheers to all with snow!

Definitely in a lull in Lewisville at the moment.  Very light flurries only now.  More to come based on the upstream radar.  Neighborhood kids are already out with their plastic sleds.

Light snow in Winston Salem right now. The roads are absolutely terrible. Fire dept is out pushing cars near exits on the highway. Be safe everyone.
