Ice pinging off the windows in Hillsborough. A dusting of snow followed by freezing rain. Oh well.

We got essentially the bare minimum to break the streak without around 0.3 inches to 0.5 inches of snow/sleet.

Will say it feels like a poor return on investment to spend 10+ days tracking a storm for 1.5 inches of snow. But the 2 hours it dumped were a ton of fun.

I have been pleasantly surprised by the storm after seeing the NAM. I definitely didn’t expect to get over an inch. Not real thrilled with the ZR right now though.

An aside, and not to be sentimental, but it’s so cool when you pass down this weird hobby to your kids. I have a 6 year old daughter who now wants to watch the model runs with me and put out snow boards to measure what has fallen.

It snowed for about 4 hours this morning and early this afternoon. Then we had a snow hole, then a sleet fest, and now it's freezing rain. From what I can tell outside it's very white and SHINY and there are icicles forming on the eaves of the house. Rain still coming down and freezing.

I have a 4 year old boy and he's loving it. The weather genes run strong in my family. My brother is the "great" RaleighWx.   "great" was said with sibling sarcasm.

As a weather nerd, I always find it fascinating watching the various processes at work in the atmosphere causing varying precipitation types and the changes between them.

Yeeee maybe 0.5" snow in midtown Raleigh, but havent seen a flake in about an hour. Just light zr now, and it's more of a drizzle despite radar showing snow all around Raleigh for miles. My grass isn't covered and the road is still mostly black. As far as I'm concerned, the streak continues. Last time RDU saw 1.00" snow was January 2022, so...still pushing THREE YEARS

We may be done for a while. Watched wxii Lanie Pope who is showing us in an upcoming dry slot for a good while. Just took daughter's dog out and nothing much going on outside weather wise north of Kernersville.

Agree Kvegas brother.  I'm definitely underwhelmed.  So much so I would classify this as almost a nuissance snow.  Not enough to really enjoy but just enough to screw up your weekend.  And to think, I waited in lines 12 deep at the Food Lion and ATL still got more than me.  

Ha!  But congrats to all that got snow.  That should satisfy the board until....next weekend!
