A 5 minute period of moderate snow in Wilson nicely whitened the ground up, but back to sleet now.  I am shaking my fist at the warm nose.

NWS: As of 7pm, RDU reported 0.4 inches of snow. This ends the 1076 day (second longest) drought of measurable snow in Raleigh. The longest stretch without measurable snow in Raleigh was 1164 days which ended on 2/19/93. Records go back to 1887.

Raining in Charlotte area now yet it's 29 out. I can't imagine the ice mess this will cause once it all freezes. It might be freezing rain already but its coming down as mainly rain.

That is freezing rain. Rain when the temp is below freezing.

Back to all snow here. Watching as that last part of the moisture rotates its way through here. Might add a bit of dusting to the pile of sleet we got on top of the inital snow.
