No surprise there’s heavy snow occurring across Atlanta with this intense forcing from frontogenesis. Will be progressive but could pivot as it weakens over TN and western NC.  http://moe.met.fsu.edu/banding/

Well this is interesting. Light sleet and snow flurries down here in Waycross, GA. Back home in USA from Australia for first time in 3 years and we got wintry precip down in South Georgia. ICON model actually did a pretty good job showing that potential.

in Dahlonega getting downsloped, dryslotted, nam'd, convection robbed, virga'd  ;-) while hearing all these reports West, East, and South of me.  but just before 8am started to get snow.  its all snow, small flakes, but coming down pretty good maybe half inch so far.  Good luck everyone!  Come see us up in Dahlonega @GaWx

3.1” here prior to the sleet we have now. Some -FZRA mixing in. Will be curious to see if the “unmodeled” snow cover will maintain freezing temps at the surface despite SE winds. Models seem to be handling winds ahead of the inverted surface trough well, as gusts of 25-35 mph are being reported in central MS.

I’m thrilled with what we already got here. I estimate 2”! The snow has let up considerably. Can’t tell what may be falling now but it’s light.

WWA upgraded to WSW for Columbia, SC .  It's currently sleeting like crazy here with this unexpected band of precip stretching in from GA.

I think it’s lightly sleeting here in N Gwinnett after a beautiful ~2” of snow. No matter what happens from this point, making the trip up here from Savannah is guaranteed to have been the right decision!
