I've been below freezing since Monday at just after noon, the high for the week was 38 Monday morning. 3/4th inch of snow on the ground with a thin layer of sleet and ice from the zr below that.

I’m setting all my gear up and patiently waiting. We’re Sitting at 34 degrees right now, it was sunny at noon but by 2:30 heavy cloud cover started to push in and takeover. Looks like we have some light bands starting to push across the Mississippi River into Memphis now. Radar looks great back into Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.

John1122
21 degrees, dp 16. Hard to beat frozen ground before a system. For some reason this has reminded me of Feb 1996 all week. Ice/frozen way south. A week of cold air leading into the storm. That one ended up becoming a legendary system, especially for the central valley of East Tennessee. But was a severe winter storm forum wide. 5

AMZ8990
It would be nice if the max total size allowed to upload pictures would get increased. I cant post anything even when I try to crop it smaller

I cant post anything even when I try to crop it smaller Here's what I do: Use imgur and create a free account. They've never spammed me and I can upload any amount of pics to their server for free. I save a pic to my desktop then drag and drop that pic into imgur. Once it has uploaded you right click and choose copy image address and then paste that link here. The only thing they can't take are the iPhone HEIC files. Shout out to @Stovepipe for teaching me how to do that 2

Holston_River_Rambler
@AMZ8990 if you want to make gif of a video you took, you can do thesame thing with .mov files, just substitue "giphy" for "Imgur" as the site you use. Just made this one showing the column moistening up from the Hightower radar site in NE Alabama This next bit is not for necessarily for AMZ but anyone wondering what the hole on the radar is in the first frames. The radar beam is aimed out and up and as the snow makes it down in the atmosphere the radar starts to see it lower and lower in the beam as it is aimed out, so the hole seems to collapse. *Flash*
Snow has begun at my location. As expected, it is sticking to everything and anything. Hoping we can get some good returns later today and that southern areas don't hog it all.
nrgjeff
Light snow in eastern Chattanooga. Getting to the high end of light, but not yet moderate. Thick dusting to quarter inch already. Light snow started around 7am ET. Correlation Coefficient still shows a county or two buffer between Tennessee and rain/mixed. However it is creeping north. Need the defensive line to hold! I believe Hytop and BMX are scanning different elevations at the mix line (green). BMX matches surface obs better which is good 'cause its green line is farther south. 8
