The h7fgen shifted way northwest and ended up completely disconnected to the main WAA and h85fgen banding.  This created a dead zone north of the main bullseye which was DC southeastward and that band that ended up putting down 4-8" way up into west central PA.  That northern band died out as it shifted east and ran into the NS shred zone from the 50/50 spinning up there.  That disconnect is what lead to the minor "bust" across MD and into your area.  It also didn't help that there was a disconnect from best lift and the DGZ such that even what qpf we got didn't maximize ratios to the level we would have liked along the northern tier of the snowfall zone.

Thanks for the explanation psu!

Believe it or not but our rec counsel actually played our basketball games today. A thrilling 18-14 overtime victory for the good guys.

That's a high-scoring tight game for that level of play!

And now the kids get to enjoy the snow - great day.

Its pretty cool(and rare) when all of MD and DE- and most of VA- are snow covered at the same time for the better part of a week.

I'm feelin pretty blessed down here this year. 5.25" total and some ice isn't impressive at all but the way it happened was deep winter appeal. Feels quite lucky to be sharing full snowcover with my long time MA digital friends lol. Told myself to get used to being on the outside looking in when I moved. This winter is already a big win in some ways

Especially considering this winter was, on paper, supposed to be a ratter. I know you were skeptical, and that was a good call on your part. I initially thought ratter, but when I checked the analogs and adjusted for recent climate, I was like “hmm, maybe not as bad as we think it’s going to be.” It’s in the thread title of my outlook ;)
