Snow on kinda sorta snow for our land in Sandy Level. Hard pack frozen snow/sleet/zr lol on our driveway. No give underfoot. My tractor has awesome traction but if the treads can't break that crust I may end up involuntarily downhill. Lol. Maybe way down hill hahaha. No seat belts or airbags on 1967 tractors

Eta: it's 26 degrees right now. No way we hit 33 forecast. No wasted flakes

Nice tractor Bob! I felt the same way about our driveway, shoveled the rest out on wednesday morning (that is semi-flat), was afraid the car would 'walk/slide' across it instead of drive thru or break it. 80% of my driveway looks like the steepness of your pic.

15z RAP shows 0.2+ qpf for both IAD and DCA by tomorrow. That's double from 03z.

HRRR smaller uptick but noise-ish

The RAP that showed 15” for north Maryland 6hrs out from the last event. Ya I’ll pass on ever looking at that model again.

Will school systems in dc suburbs close tomorrow? Lots of bball games that got postponed from earlier in the week. They may have to postpone the postponed games!

.

Hope not.  I have 5 games.

The hours leading into events are always my favorite. No matter how much frozen is forecast to fall, it's always wonderful watching the cirrus shield out the sun and give those lovely sunsets.

Yep this was a highlight on Sunday AM as we moved from sun to cloud cover. Ominous!

The radar hallucinations with this one are going to be something. Looks like a 6-10+ type rolling toward us.

Could you just imagine if we tripped into a 5" - 8" event somehow? It would be a tremendous mood booster.

Temps overperforming - 35 degrees. I can hear the snow melting and dripping off the roof outside.

Depends where you are. Colder here than forecasted. Supposed to 31 by now it’s 28.

It sucks this didn’t materialize to be a better event for everyone. But 2-3 inches isn’t totally out of the cards down this way. It’s almost happy hour on Friday. Let the hallucinations begin!

Friend of mine in Huntsville, AL reporting the heaviest snow he's ever seen. The were forecast for 2-4 and already have 4.5 from a NWS report.

let's all have a nice chuckle that Huntsville, AL has gotten more snow this winter than NYC.

Yeah, I didn't understand all the optimism leading in.  The radar showed an enormous dry slot and the firehouse out of the SW looked like a frontal passage.  When I saw areas to our SE snowing hours before us with a west-to-east precip flow, the writing seemed to be on the wall.  The usual backlash came when I mentioned that OBS that night.  I think someone asked me if "I've watched a radar before", which of course, is what I was doing.

I am trying to will 2-3" inches of Snow down EZF way. Wouldn't be totally shocked if it happened, but expecting 1-1.5"
