Tracking either the biggest storm to affect at a regional scale since perhaps 2013 ... or, a complete whiff. Pick-em'

2” measured about 2 hours ago.  Took an 8 mile urban hike tonight in a beautiful wintry landscape.   Hopefully it snows again in the next few weeks.

Didn't 2015 start Jan 26th? We still have plenty of time for good snow. I ended up with 1.5 inches after the last burst came through.

Dude, 8-miles is no joke for an evening stroll.  Impressive.

It is. I’m similar to Jerry in that I like to take evening walks. Unfortunately, I don’t have an 8 mile lit route. I go down to the Montpelier bike path once or twice a week but that only gets me a couple of miles most nights.

Yeah I was proud of myself.  Lots of hills and then as soon as I returned home I shoveled.  Being on the corner of a cul de sac there’s a lot of sidewalk but it was easy to do. Still added another hour though between the back patio paths to the trash and grill and side walkway over to the driveway followed by the long sidewalk and then path to the front door.  Easy without the 8 miles first but now I’m kind of wiped…lol.  Not bad for and old man though!

Yeah night walking requires some lighting.  Can’t do it in the woods.  You’d have to repeat the path multiple times which gets boring.  Whenever I’m in a small town or rural environment walking/hiking has to be a daytime activity.

Even if we only ended up with about an inch and a half of fluff, it was still very cool to see snow finally coming down. It really helps break up the monotony of this cold and mostly dry pattern we’ve been stuck in for the last couple weeks. And it’s barely enough to have to worry about shoveling. A big win all around imo.
