Tracking either the biggest storm to affect at a regional scale since perhaps 2013 ... or, a complete whiff. Pick-em'

True but our understanding of weather is built on our understanding of physics and how the atmosphere works. There are laws and principles which we can easily prove and you take those laws and principle and apply them. All these stats in baseball are just a means to give a valuation to a player. It's about trying to find the "best" player available for as little money possible.

...and that has led to an overanalyzing of players to the point that it has created paralysis by analysis....much like some people overanalyze the weather.  Sometimes the best and most simplest answer is staring someone right in the face but they don't see it because of reams of data that they are analyzing.

Or we could all do what the Jets owner does...use Madden ratings

Don't laugh but there are numerous people out there who actually argue over those ratings...even players have complained about their rating(s) in the game...

I couldn't believe what I read a few weeks ago where the Jets owner blocked the deal they had in place for Jerry Jeudy because he wasn't a fan of his rating in Madden. I thought it was a joke but I guess several Jets have verified that he often seeks player ratings in Madden in his decision making process lol.

I've been around sports for nearly my entire life. I can state this with the utmost certainty-sports teams/organizations are dysfunctional to one degree or another-but some teams/organizations take dysfunction to new heights lol

And even though the poles heat faster, as temp increases, the same delta T is a larger delta kinetic energy increase? Which means that delta Kinetic energy is higher, which means that the motive force for redistributing kinetic energy is higher -> faster circulation?

we have to also keep in my that water vapor is a huge component in the total themodynamics of the total atmospheric gradient.  and, energy storage in in the atmosphere is non-linear.  ... check that - i'm pretty sure that is true.  a warmer atmosphere holds more water vapor.

the poles are warming, but the energy stored in wv in beneath the ferrel latitudes is ballooned well beyond and is assisting in the gradient steepening.

I have 5" for Clinton from that one from the pns it says trained spotter 1W Clinton not sure if that was you or not. Amounts really tanked immediately east of there in the 2-4" range right along the shore.

5" definitely wasn't my report. But now I vaguely remember seeing that and thinking to myself there's no f'in way. Either the trained spotter was measuring on grass without a board or the cutoff for that event really split the town. It's not like I'm right on the water either...I'm 3-4 miles inland and up a small hill...but sometimes I still feel like I'm it a bit of a relative hole, convinced trees sometimes mess with my measurements more than I think they should.
