Outside of watching the models today, I have also observed some weird behavior from animals in the yard. The birds, squirrels and rabbits are all extremely active. It reminds me of 2 days before the big snow storm that hit December of 2018. My grandfather always said you can watch the animals and they'll tell you when something's brewing. I don't know how true it is, but nature is definitely a little more active today than usual.

I noticed something today with birds in my backyard, too. I opened the door to the screened back porch and at least 30 birds where in the yard. Never seen that before.

Hmmm I have also noticed a lot of odd behavior by the animals on this board.

BTW.  GSP AFD is a good one.

First call:

Interesting! That’s a bold call for Atlanta. Your map has mainly plain rain (light green) all the way up to Sandy Springs (N of Perimeter) with no snow and just a little ice. This is bold because all 12Z models but UK have further south downtown ATL at 30-32 (UK starts 34 but it has thermal issues and still then drops to 32 with heavy snow)

GFS: 5.5”; little IP/ZR; qpf 0.95”

UK 5”; little IP/ZR and some rain lol; qpf 0.85”

Icon 3.5”; qpf 0.95”

Euro 2”; moderate IP/ZR; qpf 0.58”

CMC 0.2”; mainly ZR and IP; qpf 0.70”

I work from home and I'll take breaks periodically through the day and step outside to get some fresh air. I'm pretty in tune with nature, and today is definitely an active day for the small animals in the yard. In December of 2018, I remember looking out the window and several trees were full of robins, dozens of them and I'd never seen that before. 2 Days later we got hammered with the snow through Catawba County. I just thought it was an abnormal feeling with the amount of activity going on.

Yeah it is a very rough outline. I will update more precisely tomorrow.
