RAH has onset much later than many of the news outlets which are saying 12-3. I am guessing somewhere in between, around 4ish for the triad.

Looks like those times very closely mirror the latest GRAF run.

There really aren't any models showing precip before around 5pm, but also these overrunning events tend to start 2-3 hours earlier than modeled (at least as far as light flurry action goes)

I miss hearing from some of the longtime posters. Robert (foothillswx) packbacker, griteater, Lookout, snojoe bigfrosty, coldrain, even widremann.

Indeed, been here for about 10 trips around the sun and miss Coldrain and BigFrosty...but it's great to see new folks as well.

Cheers folks, enjoy the ride!  Hope everyone can get a solid run and keep the lights on.  Be safe!  I'm going with a solid 6" in my area from northern Watauga into Ashe.  Gonna get snowed in with my grandson and make some sausage balls.

WRAL is about 4 hours ahead of the NWS on their start time prediction

RAH is dropping the ball on this one..that's a huge difference with massive impacts. IDK what model guidance they were looking at
