There must have been a lot of compaction throughout the event because I 100% measured 3" in multiple spots yesterday morning and hardly received anything thereafter.

There was a lot of compaction between the first and second rounds. I had sleet, freezing drizzle, snizzle for several hours before the lull band and ULL.

I've had a "hopefully 3-4 inches min with def upside potential" attitude for days. I try not to become unmoored by sightings of WB pink   I am really looking forward to a good, cold snow that sticks around. Big snow pack person!

Generally speaking I'm sorta 'north crew' bc of latitude but sorta..not bc of being east, low, close to bay

My post above (in response to a...what are north crew thoughts/stages of grief lol) worked out pretty well in the end. Finished with 4.75", slightly higher than other sparse reports, but not inflated, one decent evening band was a help. Going to enjoy the snowcover and hope for a refresher :)

Not for me just north of Baltimore. It was all snow all the time. Can't see where these numbers are coming from in my area.

Looks like only a coating was added from the ull imby near DT Frederick.  Basically 3" and some change, so i was a little surprised by some of the measurements closer to 5" coming out of Frederick County.  This can be sugarcoated, but it was a bit of a bust up here.  Could barely even see the flakes during the overnight period and hardly snowed during the day lol.  With that said, there was a pleasant, effortlessness to this snow.  Once it started, it required no work.  I just woke up yesterday to snow, and I was able to get in a nice walk (during one of the times there was clearly still light snow falling).  Felt very wintry even with 3" and, honestly, there's something to be said about the roads being already cleared (or so it seems).

Agreed. I literally used a broom to remove the snow from my sidewalk this morning. Haven't done that in years.

That makes more sense and lines up more closely with what we had here -- I didn't do a final measurement, but we were likely around 6.5 post-ULL.  We got a little a bit out of the lull band, but less than you.  IAD likely missed that band entirely.

Lol… How’s it going? I have not measured, but closing in on 5” In guessing. Not much snow has fallen in Damascus since around 9am

It's going great!  Great to hear from you!

It looks like there was a 7" report in Damascus when all was said and done.  Not a bad storm.  I am heading down on Sunday for a couple of weeks.  It'll be nice to come to a place that has some real snow.  Ha.

I prefer the IEM Mesonet numbers typically vs. those reported into NWS.  For example, they reported 7" 4mi to the NE and 7.5" 4mi to the SW of my place and my kid measured 6.5" OTG at the end in Clarksburg but with no "clearing the board".

I am super close to that 7.7" reported just northwest of Baltimore and it seems high.  I have 6.0" with .52" of liquid.  Are all those reports done by the standard snow measuring practice of regularly clearing the board?

@das looks like 6" - 7.5" between Germantown -> Hyattstown. The back end snow appears to have "saved" upper Montgomery County.

Thanks!  I'll go with the 6.5" that was measured by my kid even though it would have likely been 7" using proper measuring methods...

No guarantees, of course but you are supposed to be an actual trained spotter to submit.

That’s because those numbers up this way are flat inaccurate.

It doesn’t appear the maker used spotter reports and probably cocoroahs. Then did a very low res interpolation to fill the gaps. No one north of Towson got more than 4”. Not sure where that 6” came from.

Anyway, the Bentley Springs report is me.
