Warm air advection snow is ending and we're about to transition to more cellular snow until the upper energy passes through this afternoon. I remain cautiously optimistic about the back end potential giving a fresh 1" - 3".

T. August
This is strictly imby, but I can’t recall a time when the backend stuff worked out in the last 10 years. Maybe Feb 2014? I think there was an inch or 2 from that.
diatae
Swinging between pings and golf ball sized parachute snow puke. I don't know the scientific terms for this, but living on the edge of the snow-sleet line is entertaining af.

dailylurker
I've officially slant sticked 8" lol. 8" in the grass and 7.60 on the board. That last burst gave me over a half inch in about 20 minutes. Made the surface all bumpy from the big flakes. It's getting darker again and looks like it's going to puke again.

Sharp gradients with this storm. I'm only about 20 miles, basically due west, of you. And we're at 6" max right now, though in a heavy band.

Warm Nose
I think I'm mostly done here in extreme western Loudoun. Measured 5", under of course the 8-12 that was proj'd but that's normal these days. I doubt we'll get a lot from the coastal but this is not a jackpot for us NW of the cities. Still fun.

These yellow bands that roll through are some real dumpers. The difference between max totals and lower end depends on getting under the yellow. I've been on a heater and keep lining them up.
