That radar is a thing of beauty. Hours and hours and hours and hours of fresh pure snow represented by a Brobdingnagian GLOB, deep white all full of torrential aggregates, all heading eastbound right into the very heart of the Mid Atlantic, fed by such an influx of deep GoMex moisture! You guys are in for such fun times!

Brother, how have you been. It is wretched that's for sure. This is shaping up as a fun week though. I've been secretly tracking next weekend's storm for about eight days or so

I’m pretty good right now.  The VA did cut my disability because the plate in my head wasn’t big enough. I’ll be ok.  If we get next weekends storm then worlds are colliding.  It’s the apocalypse.

0z balloon from Sterling shows very dry air in the low levels of the atmosphere. It will take awhile for those snowflakes to make it to the surface. Talking hours.

Not sure what that would have looked like here this afternoon, but I can say it took about an hour before the virga passing overhead made it to the ground.

Nothing unexpected. Better than it being 36/21 and hoping for radiational cooling to save us.

There is a huge shield of snow heading straight for the sub. It's gonna dump and its gonnabe piling up! You guys got cold ground! INSTANT CAVING!

It is being fed by a strong feed straight out of the GoMex, too! All that prodigious moisture is gonnabe injected right into that Arctic Dome then fall as heavy heavy SNOW!

It's comin' straight for YOU, Mid Atlantic'ers!

I humbly request that the mods temporarily rename this subforum "The Snow Party Subforum" lol

Correct. The models had this pretty well outlayed. Euro especially. Those wishing for a 9pm start time were in for a disappointment.

Totally agree on the cold to start! Rather have instant stickage than waiting for rates to overcome.

So...there are some here that don't know how to read these things. Could you be more specific?

The dewpoints (the green line) in the lower levels (below 750 HP) are very very low (well negative).  This is sometimes good in that it aids in evaporative cooling but it can be bad in that it eats up a lot of your QPF at the start.

I see. Well, it seems we sometimes have to deal with virga around here and folks always sweat over it, lol

We got up to low 40s today and still had the instant stickage. Y’all will get the goods in a few!
