Radar reallly lighting up over far NW WV and Pittsburgh. Hopeful that everyone gets another 2" - 4" on top of this as the sun sets.

The second round just began in southern Garrett. I hope, at least imby, the second round is better than the first because the first - out here with our 10-20" forecast as of last night - was pretty pitiful (4" so far).

I'm personally glad I stuck to my guns with 4-8" for MBY.  I was *really* tempted to go 6-10" after yesterday's 0z runs.  In the end, I think I'll end up close to 8" with the ULL snow.  So pretty spot on for MBY, although I know it's low-end most places elsewhere.  I think you'll get to 8" @mattie g.

I think we all got amped because the models juiced up as go time got closer. That 8" goal was pretty modest in my mind and I honestly was expecting more.

As for getting to 8", that would be amazing. The kids have had a great day and it looks wonderful out there, so it would be a sweet cap to the day (and give me a reason to have another drink or three this evening)!

I'm out hiking in the woods. I wish I had snow shoes. There's been a very steady light snow for the past 45 minutes. Great mood snow. I feel like it's from the ne wind.

We tried our older MSR lightning ascent snowshoes on a couple weeks ago and on both of them the rubner straps just broke right off, the rubber had rotted.  They were 15yrs old but I was disappointed given how expensive they were.  So I ordered us new pairs of the same snowshoes last week and they were supposed to be delivered today.  Obviously that ain't happening and I'm bummed to have missed out on this.  Hopefully they can deliver tomorrow.

This band has been laying down some very night light to sometimes moderate snow for the past hour+ in Rockville.  I'd say we have about 5.5-6" eyeballing it.  We definitely struggled with some snow growth throughout the night last night, we had some periods of clumping dendrites but a lot of poorly formed rimed flakes too.  Regardless it's a very fluffy snow and it's absolutely beautiful.  Hopefully we all get a nice round of parachutes tonight.

Been lucky here in Leesburg with that band of moderate to heavy snow training over the area. Looks like an additional 1.5 inches or so from that...pretty fluffy stuff.

What's your total so far?

I went out to measure and I also picked up another 1.3", bringing my total to 6.1". But wanted to confirm if anyone else in Loudoun county also got 6"+?

Light banding starting to form on radar in western PWC. No flakes currently in Montclair. No melting either :D

Usually my blacktop drive way in Haymarket warms enough to loosen the last little bits of ice when shoveled.

It stayed cold enough when I moved the car that was in the driveway whatever falling snow (from the car) touched the driveway that hadn't been exposed "to the sun" froze instantly to the newly vacated spot.

I was about dead on 6 inches about a few miles south West of IAD.  Picked up only about .25 inches since 830
