Still plenty of bands in WV to come through before the ULL pass. Hoping they help backfill later this morning.

I think those are associated with the 850mb low. I wouldn’t be surprised if they rot a bit as the energy transfers.  Though I am curious what happens in the lull

I'm in the zip code 20910 just south of the 495 beltway and north of the DC northern apex, in Silver Spring.

Just measured about 4.75" averaged across a few spots in the yard and on a snowboard surface.

I was out shoveling from 8am til now. Went from SN+, to SN- with a bit of ice and frozen pellet drizzle (?) to back to moderate snow with bigger flakes in the last 15 minutes.

Hope I can pull 6" out of the first part then another 1-2" later.

In the 12-hour period from 10am to 10pm, here are the model outputs from the mesos:

RGEM:  0.2-0.35" precip

NAM 3k:  0.25-0.4"

HRRR (12z):  0.1"-0.2"

Quick perusing of radar and those models and my conclusion is the 3k NAM matches best with current radar.  This conclusion is 100% not at all biased by the highest QPF number :)

3k is beautiful with the backside.  Fluff for all.
