*Flash*
The temperature at my location is depressing (pushing 50), though I will say we've been experiencing a ton of thunder and lightning. More than I expected. 3

TellicoWx
For those who are new or possibly never saw how downsloping can affect things along the foothills. From 32° to 51° in about an hour. 6
Scottie16
Temperatures across northeastern TN into southwest VA are stubbornto rise versus the modeled rate, and that may continue to be thecase overnight for areas with frozen precipitate on the ground.Lowered temperatures and slowed the overall rise overnight acrosslocations that are still sub-freezing with observations from areaairports and spotters with the latest HRRR and NAM guidance.Product wise a SPS for the relevant TN counties and an extensionin time for the winter weather advisory in southwest Virginia havebeen issued. A band of light rain is crossing much of the coldportions of the area now, but will swiftly move through.Additional light icing is likely from this rain swath.Meanwhile the main band of rain still lies to our west, and a fewrumbles of thunder or direct lightning bolts cannot be ruled outas the storms have been rather persistent while crossing MiddleTennessee. This line of primarily showers should rumble throughduring the overnight hours in agreeance with the forecast andguidance.-NWSM.

Scottie16
Most of the Central Valley locations are still hovering around freezing with winds from the north. About 45 mins until the next round comes through. Could we see snow? More of that icky icy stuff? .

TellicoWx
Warm air starting to accelerate from the foothills into the valley floor. If you go to wunderground and Monroe Co...can watch as each PWS gets overtaken. Leading edge pushing into Madisonville...drove thru it, almost like a fog moving north west.

BlunderStorm
We've got about a quarter inch of ice accumulation on most surfaces. The temperature is currently hovering at 32F with the snowpack from earlier holding steady for now. Zr is mostly light but we had a few more moderate bands pass through.

nrgjeff
Chattanooga temp is dropping during the day! That's rare as air tries to work over the Plateau. Is Hell freezing over? Perhaps it's just the beginning of a good winter weather pattern. I have almost forgotten what that is. Models have a buffet line the next 10-15 days if we can avoid major disappointment. My thoughts on late week are in that thread.
Knoxtron
Got a quick dusting around 8am, puking snow for about 30 mins but nothing since then. More radar returns up stream so hoping it covers the grass!
Grothar of Herndon
Temp: 39 DP: 36 Misty rain and slop fest outside right now. Snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain over the past 24 hours. Knoxtron
Temps dropping like a rock last few hours, currently 26 On and off sleet, no snow since 8am. Roads are getting covered pretty quickly under heavier bands. Not much more and travel will be a little sketchy...
Holston_River_Rambler
Pixie dust puke here in MoCo, coming in waves: That shot is from Frozen Head at about 1800' I also forgot to show y'all my ice sculpture I got a couple of mornings ago: Not really sure how that happened. John1122
Nickel sized flakes falling. I didn't get nearly as warm as predicted (forecast high was 47, only made 38), so the ground still has a layer of ice on it from the freezing rain and sleet.
Knoxtron
Woah boy, this snow band means business! Picked up half inch in 30 mins, coming down hard in the blowing winds ! Super dry snow and it's blowing off the roads/roof pretty quickly Wife's about to attempt the drive home, definitely getting ready to get the UTV out (more for fun tbh but looking for an excuse). 2
