Our first real event is quickly turning to a dud 15 hours ago, Met1985 said: This was never going to be a moisture rich system. That was pretty much set from day one. We always new that things had to happen just perfect for anyone to get significant accumulations. It is what it is. I’ve seen enough. It was at least fun to track with everybody. It felt like old times. After this whiff, I’m ready for summer. I’ll be pulling for an egregious SER in Feb personally. Pull the bandaid off and enjoy fishing and getting outside. 6 hours ago, wncsnow said: 24 hours ago we looked golden. Now we might be lucky to get an inch.. it's hard to break a streak like this.. 6 hours ago, BooneWX said: Yep. I’ll admit I’m taking this one harder than normal because it’s likely our last crack at anything. It’ll be cold this month but we lose our -NAO and we all know how key that is. We score Friday or it’s likely on to 25/26 winter. 6 hours ago, wncsnow said: I'm worried it will trend drier and drier until it's a flizzard... 6 hours ago, WNC_Fort said: This is the sort of rug pull that hurts the heart. WNC_Fort
I feel like there’s a budding rivalry between the foothill and mountain crew. Heck, the foothill thread only came about because we were no longer welcome to complain in the mountain thread. Sorry not everyone gets northwest flow! Everybody in the mountains would love to see Foothills people get snow. I would be thrilled if WNCSnow gets more than me. He invests a lot in the board, has tried to stay positive, and he deserves it. That said, nobody controls the weather. I'm in the mountains and have had some dustings and 1 one inch snowfall in 3 years. But if you guys get it, or the Raleigh people or Atlanta people get, yay for them!!! 2 1
wncsnow
I love snow I don't usually get snow jealousy when others get more than me (except maybe DC screw them lol) Life has its ups and downs. We all have different backgrounds and beliefs but we all love weather and there are some good people on here. I still remember when my mom died many on here were kind. 3

WNC_Fort
I love this whole crew! There were definitely some hard feelings last year when it felt like hands were forced to make a foothills thread but I love our little microclimates. Heck, There are instances where the escarpment in my part of the world rake in BIG compared to the higher elevations. It’s just been so long for many of us. glad to be here with you all and here’s hoping that the storm delivers on Friday!
BooneWX Posted yesterday at 12:21 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:21 AM No rivalry for me, I cant compete with a microclimate that quadruples my yearly average on a historically bad season. I’ll always have love for my brethren up the hill. But I do agree - I’m glad we started the foothills thread. We don’t really belong anywhere else because what we root for, rarely works east of us and we can’t relate to flow snow.

wncsnow Posted yesterday at 02:41 AM Share Posted yesterday at 02:41 AM For a rather small to moderate storm, this one has some serious twists and turns... who would have thought a low into the TN valley would be showing up?

Not sure what to make of that low. It's not our main surface low. This is some sort of meso-low. Strange for sure....
