26.7/25 with 93% humidity and light snow that is not showing up on standard radar.

Same observation over here. Went for a walk and it’s more than diamond dust. Certainly not heavy but I think there’s a lot of low level moisture getting squeezed out. That’s why I think if we can hit those building returns to the southwest, we might be surprised.

I don’t know that I’ve witnessed freezing drizzle at this low temperature before. It’s making everything crunchy. Instantly freezing on contact. No runoff.

Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing, it's not heavy but building up in the trees very quickly. I bet roads are an absolute nightmare.

Looked outside about start of halftime of the game, and it is pouring snow and sleet.  Head out with the dog again.  We are playing ball in the snow.  Labs don't care. I realize it's raining - freezing of course.  Then as we come in, it's some type of sleet or pellets.  Just wild.  Measured about 1.5 inch of mix.

This reminds me of one of the old 1980's winter storms.  We used to get a lot of little nickel and dime deals like this that would give you a little bit of everything precip wise.

It’s exactly like a 1980s storm in the lee of the Apps, growing up in Lenoir. Many fond memories of those storms.

Trying to turn to all snow again after the last hour of the tiniest flakes and sleet. Still accumulating on everything. Roads will be worse tomorrow with all these layers packed down and frozen overnight. Snow on sleet on freezing rain now going back to snow. It does remind me of the 80s and 90s storms that we used to get so often back then. I take it as a huge win compared to the last 3 winters for us in the foothills.

If I didn't transition to sleet earlier, I bet I could have made a run at the 4” mark.

I could’ve easily. The rates were insane when it was sleeting. I’ve only seen sleet that heavy one other time.

Been going since 12 for me. Started to pick up around 2 and covering the ground by 2:30ish. Rates were great for about 2 hours. at 4:45 or so the sleet started. Changed to FR at 6:00 and been back and forth since.  Diamond dust for the last two hours with sleet popping in and some flakes with the bands coming through now.

Ive never seen diamond dust, kind of cool.

The winds are out of the NNW now .
