I missed the first push this morning.  Cat woke me up at 6:30 and no snow at that time here. Went back to bed (as I'd turned in after 2a). Woke up to a mulch topper.

Since, looks to be about .75 so far on the deck railing.

Been some big flakes mixed in. Presently in a little lull.

Watching it fall has always been my favorite part of it, outside tracking the storm.

Currently 32.4/31.2 at 10:30a.

If the gulf was not so active right now the transport of moisture would be so much better.

We could have gotten hammered from this storm, it just goes to show you how close it was to being a big storm. Everything almost has to be perfect nowadays, and forget the models until about 36-48 hrs it seems. I am happy right now just watching it snow finally.

The fuel it could be providing . But I agree. I got 20 mins in falling snow outside playing basketball with my kid. So win.

Yea I think this will be my “what could have been” storm I think about often. The Jan storm had signs for multiple days that we were going to be squeezing juice out of spent lemons but this one really teased us with the southern stream up until late Sunday. We just got dominated by the northern stream this winter.

I would be surprised if they don't cancel the WWA for Catawba County at the next update. Here's the point-and-click for North Hickory. If I do the math, less than half an inch, times three, can still be zero. That's my official prognostication, unfortunately. :arrowhead:

lol. No sooner did you post this, GSP updated the advisory to extend until noon tomorrow. Coating - an inch possible with the ULL. We’ll see.

Ha! Shows you what I know and why I am not employed by NWS GSP. I sure do hope they are correct.

Sounds like tomorrow would have been a better day for virtual school rather than today.
