calculus1
Still only the solitary flake I saw around 8 AM this morning. Downsloping, FTW!
mercurydime
I missed the first push this morning. Cat woke me up at 6:30 and no snow at that time here. Went back to bed (as I'd turned in after 2a). Woke up to a mulch topper. Since, looks to be about .75 so far on the deck railing. Been some big flakes mixed in. Presently in a little lull. Watching it fall has always been my favorite part of it, outside tracking the storm. Currently 32.4/31.2 at 10:30a.

We could have gotten hammered from this storm, it just goes to show you how close it was to being a big storm. Everything almost has to be perfect nowadays, and forget the models until about 36-48 hrs it seems. I am happy right now just watching it snow finally.

I got 20 mins in falling snow outside playing basketball with my kid. So win.

BooneWX
Yea I think this will be my “what could have been” storm I think about often. The Jan storm had signs for multiple days that we were going to be squeezing juice out of spent lemons but this one really teased us with the southern stream up until late Sunday. We just got dominated by the northern stream this winter.
calculus1
I would be surprised if they don't cancel the WWA for Catawba County at the next update. Here's the point-and-click for North Hickory. If I do the math, less than half an inch, times three, can still be zero. That's my official prognostication, unfortunately.
WxKnurd
If what was falling from Flat Rock to Columbus can pivot through then it will awesomE mood flakes for sure. Working around Spindale today and tomorrow so I’m a part of you foothill guys during the day at leafst.

No sooner did you post this, GSP updated the advisory to extend until noon tomorrow. Coating - an inch possible with the ULL. We’ll see.
wncsnow
I'm surprised how warm its gotten. Its 36 in Asheville which means its probably at least that in Marion.

WXNewton
Light snow again in Newton, radar looks...um...about how I expected it to look. It's funny how your expectations shift throughout a winter storm potential and now I am happy just to see it snow. Chasing these tiny little bands on radar has become the highlight of my day so far.

Sounds like tomorrow would have been a better day for virtual school rather than today.
wncsnow
It stinks for us but imagine being near the triad or southern Virginia where they were looking at 4 to 6 inches just yesterday now a dusting to an inch at best. Raleigh may get 2 or 3 inches but that's questionable. 2

WNC_Fort
It’s so annoying that it’s been snowing steady or at least off/on since 9 and I have nothing to show for it. Tiny flakes. It’s 37 degrees. We can’t winter here anymore.
