Nam is back east a little.  Doubt we get a flurry

Think its about time for a break from these forums. Too many people grasp at any solution that shows snow and if someone debates it with evidence they get ridiculed.

I just think we all need to step away from the models. People emotionally attaching to each run when the current runs aren’t even on the same planet as what’s verifying on the ground. People are cliff diving over the NAM when it initializes with a quarter of what’s on radar currently.

Folks do not know how to check ones self.  But it does suck to be at 22 degrees at 10 am with a mid level deck of clouds outside and not be getting ready for some decent snow. LOL

Just some obs:

if I’m looking for western NC snow in this orientation and setup, I’d want to see some returns breaking out over central and northern Alabama imo. Sure enough, radar has improved dramatically there. Virga stretching as far north as Chattanooga right now.

Fv3 is back further north and west this run too.

Lines up with my thoughts. I think we have a 3-4 hr window, max, to make the most of the situation. An hour of light snow would likely do some damage though.

Based on saturation above our heads, I just get a feeling that the upstate to Charlotte are in for quite a surprise.

No doubt! At 48% humidity right now but that DP is low at 5.5

I blame the lack of critical thinking skills more on laziness than I do ineptitude.  We're all entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts.  Too many do not know...or care about that distinction.

I’ve seen 1-2 flakes the last hour. Not even enough to classify it as flurries but the deck is lowering and maybe it’s a sign we’re saturating the atmosphere a bit.

Its 24.3° at 2:05p with a DP of 7. RH 47%.

Lots of virga on the radar.

I’ve been using the smaller tower in Charlotte. It isn’t great but if you play with the tilt, you can see good returns on tilt 3 and increasing returns on 2. A good sign.

Our band that is modeled to give us a shot is currently setting up over northern Ga and is starting to spill into SW Nc.

Looks like storm maybe slowing down, if so it may give the western edge a chance for more snow . Also lots of back building long LA coast

Definitely looks good on radar. I’m hoping some of those heavier returns can gain more latitude.

on Sat it looks like back edge looks stationary, and moisture transport out of gulf is still going strong and building .

Dry air is winning the battle.  After some nice snow showers and lowered ceilings, they raised back up and it has stopped in Marion.

It's weird because we have good echos now but less snow reaching the ground.

I stood outside since your report @wncsnowand never saw a flake here in Old Fort. Must have just missed it. Ceiling heights are much higher here now.
