I remember seeing a commercial with Adam Joseph explaining something of that nature. Maybe it was somewhere different. There is a radar site up in that area in Ricketts Glen State Park. It’s called the Benton FAA radar site and it’s on a mountain top north of Berwick. It’s a fascinating story about how this was once a military site and was subsequently transferred to the FAA. I knew nothing about it until one day I drove past it and thought it looked very much like a Doppler site (It’s not). It’s been upgraded and is now classified as a CARSR radar site and supposedly has weather data processing capabilities.

You can see it around the perimeter. Then it usually takes over especially with sunset, darkness and lowering temperatures.

Hurricane Agnes
Here I am (I'm still here ). Started getting flakes about an hour ago and it has been sticking on the colder surfaces. So far have a coating of about 1/4" from a fine-flaked SN and temp of 32, with dp 30. Had made it up to 38 for a high after bottoming out at 29.

ChescoWx
As of 5pm I just reported 0.5" to the NWS for East Nantmeal. This brings our seasonal total to 3.3" which is about 50% of average. May see a little more if any of those bands over Central PA hold together.
