Can’t believe schools closed for this nonsense. Kids these days have it easy. I’m 37.

Except there's no such thing as a snow day- rather the kids have to telecommute for their flexible instruction day like mini-adults on their laptops! Communicable illness and the fact their is more fast moving traffic on the roads today also weighs more heavily on the decision making these days.

As of about 1:05 pm, we're up to 1.1" and down to very light snow, with not much more on the radar to our west, so this might be it, unless we get a rogue band over the next hour or two. Not too far off my 1.5" prediction yesterday and more than I thought we were going to get around 9 am this morning when we got off to a slow start. Just enough snow for a few kids to sled on, although they left just before I got the latest pic below.

That last little band over us did the trick, moving us up to 1.2" for the storm and the radar truly looks done for us; temp up to 28F.  That brings us to 5.8" for the winter, which is close to average for this point of the season.  And great to hear so many people are getting 1" or so even in NENJ/NYC/LI, which is a nice surprise.  So pretty out there.

Didn't most guidance have you 3-6"?

More like 2-4” if that. Guidance was really keen on most of se pa seeing 1-3” tops by the end and it was correct. There were maybe a model or two that showed s pa into philly in the 3-5” range but the final href was 2-4” most of extreme se pa 1-2” north of that and that seems to have been pretty on point albeit on the low end.

So another overhyped storm for SE PA by local TV news outlets?

I thought the NWS Mount Holly @MGorse did a great job tho.

Definitely. My mother lives right down the street and she called me in a panic last night asking if she needed to go to Walmart to stock up before the snow and I was like uhhhh it’s only going to be 1-3” tops chill out lol I don’t have cable so I never really watch the local news but I know that’s where she must have gotten the idea it was going to be bad. I always just follow mt Holly, they rarely steer me wrong in snow events. This was another well forecasted storm they trended amounts downward as we got closer and it was definitely correct.

Saying this nicely, but we weren't even close to warning criteria despite being issued one.

It’s tough that band that went over me and got me to 2” created a dry/light slot over the city. No way that could have been forecasted. If that band hits the city they are at 3” maybe more and the warning is closer to verifying. Given the temps and the timing I understand why they issued it. Potential was there.

In New Jersey, students are not permitted to have virtual snow days in public schools.  During the pandemic, a law was passed that the only circumstances under which a school can go virtual is for health reasons.

Lol that is why I said most guidance LOL.  To say I am disappointed is an understatement but we down here in Delco joined the rest of the people who got 2" or less.  Yes, we did have a Winter Storm Warming for 3-6" but being on the northern fringe I cannot say I am surprised.

My under over here was 3.6" so I got 1.8" and missed my under and over by 1.8" how about those numbers working out.

Yea it was a bust overall thought I would at least get 3" LOL. You're right!

Well isn't that just great for New Jersey! ....Didn't know that, thanks for the info.

Damn, thought you guys would get more - sounds like Philly and adjacent SNJ only getting 2" or so...

Yeah, I was so ready for 2 inches.  lol.  Couldn't even make that.  I guess it's a bust, but hey, everything is white.  That's better than the brown of dormant vegetation.
