SnowenOutThere
CMC looks decent according to this site https://collaboration.cmc.ec.gc.ca/cmc/cmdn/pcpn_type/pcpn_type_gem_reg.html, though does have IAD and DCA mix for a time before flipping to heavy snow. I think its SUPERCLOSE per the soundings I just looked at for DC. There is a warm nose, but it skirts the freezing line and never actually crosses over.

Are you using p-type maps or soundings? sometimes the p-type maps vary depending on how they are calculated (even from website to website). You need to look at soundings. It might get close if rates are vey low but look above at red tagger posts.
mappy
1 minute ago, bncho said: I mean, are the soundings suggesting mainly all snow for DCA? sure are. From 90 to 99 its all snow. Maybe some freezing rain at 102 but precip is pretty light.

It does get up to 32 in DC, def in the GFS camp temp wise whereas the Euro keeps us in the mid to upper 20s.
87storms
540 line is south of us on both the gfs/cmc...it's about as good of a run as we could expect at this range.

DDweatherman
Love the solutions at 12z showing .75-1" QPF in the sweetspot zones. Certainly believe it with a stronger, well oriented vort tapping GoM feeds and solid forcing. Not to mention a great pass that keeps the enhancement going a bit longer on GFS & GGEM.
