Yeah I don’t use it a lot but it is a branch of the GFS I believe. I don’t think it’s horrible, just still a “fairly new” model. 1

yoda
12z ICON moved its heaviest snow totals out of MD... DC near 6" with Kuchera

Although I guess it's really just noise (just not the kind we like). And fortunately, it's the ickycon, so.

SomeguyfromTakomaPark
It’s frigid out now. I believe these more southern solutions based on the way it feels this morning. RGEM and ICON both trending towards the Euro it seems.
DDweatherman
If the storm is faster, don’t be surprised to also see it drier. We might be able to get a good idea from the finer resolution models how sharp the northern gradient will be. Euro is expanding it north as of 6z whereas icon tightened. Benjamn3
I’m enjoying the little extra bit we seem to get on the wrap around up here in the hills… I’m just glad we have something to track and watch. Happy winter yall. Also we get some snow on the ground it’s like my pawpaw always said, snow beckons more snow.

RevWarReenactor
Models are still so different. From DC on the edge of being too far south on the NAM, to on the edge of being too far north on the ICON.
