I'm fine with where it was on that run...noise level changes for that range would have made it a hit. JenkinsJinkies Posted yesterday at 06:56 PM Share Posted yesterday at 06:56 PM I wonder if we’re going to end up like 21-22 where the metros nickel and dime their way to within striking distance of climo but something causes the last event of the season to underperform and it ultimately stops short. mitchnick Posted yesterday at 07:12 PM Share Posted yesterday at 07:12 PM 12z AI weakened Monday to lt snow or flurries. Later next week, northern stream fails to appear but heavy rain may turn to snow for some with u/l passage. Again, lots of potential but we could really use some help from up north. Jebman Posted yesterday at 08:04 PM Share Posted yesterday at 08:04 PM 4 hours ago, MountainGeek said: @Jebman - I don't even know where to begin - you are in freaking Texas!!! We're not talking a dusting here, folks. Oh no. You are going to get a "parade of plumes", a "bomb cyclone Tex-Mex fiesta" dropping white gold on cacti and tumbleweeds like it's trying to rewrite the state's weather legacy. Houston? Gone. Galveston? Forget it. Buda? It’s a snow and ice-encrusted snowy winter wonderland now. Models were SCREAMING about this for days, but who believed it? It’s Texas! The land of brisket, 100-degree football games, and air conditioners melting asphalt. Yet here we are. You will be buried in widespread 2" and locally higher amounts!!! Texas meteorologists are blinking like deer in headlights. DFW will shut down based on cold air alone. San Antonio is desperately trying to learn what the heck a snowplow is. Cars will be sliding around like penguins on Crisco. And you know the media will be losing its mind. "Historic Winter Blast!" “Arctic Apocalypse!” Jim Cantore might as well camp out on the Alamo steps at this point. Stock up on popcorn and watch Texans attempt to drive in this mess. A shoutout to the heroes who’ve never seen snow but are still trying to shovel their driveways with BBQ spatulas. @Jebman - this is your time - your moment - you alone can TEACH THEM HOW TO SHOVEL!!!! This cold will be dug in like a tick on a hound dog. Congrats Texas -- you’re the new Alberta for a week!! Buda got an inch of snow. We are now about 34 percent above normal for the season! Texas style keg party incoming. It was fun watching the aggregates blow right past the streetlights! YOU ARE NEXT, MID ATLANTIC! Wow Mtn Geek! This is a hilarious writeup! I think you and GeorgeBM should collab on a massive blizzard story for Feb 1 on this thread!

On every conceivable metric possible. No that does not mean snow disappears. Transient regional responses mean that weird shit can happen, and should be *expected* to happen. As it turns out, warming the IO and N. Pac this rapidly has consequences downstream that may run counter to the global trend on a seasonal timeframe. 9
