I was freaking the f*ck out…like seriously in hysterics…at the possibility of missing that storm. I probably would have left and taken the chance at losing my job rather than miss that beast.

What a loser.

I am a year or two from retirement. And I honestly dont care about anything work related anymore. Literally just going through the paces. Because if they can me tomorrow I am retired. :)

I am returning on the 14th. I have a dreaded feeling my heart will be broken.

I have a commitment I absolutely cannot miss, otherwise I’d do what North Arlington is doing.

I hardly even care about missing the upcoming 8-10” anymore.

Also returning on the 14th from FL, although I’m not heading there until the 9th so I’m here for tomorrow’s one.

In 2016 I found an excuse to fly in from Boston for it, and people thought I was nuts

This evenings GEFS has trended sharply towards a more meridional orientation to vorticity entering the US & a faster ejecting upper low from the Baja Days 4-6. Should this trend continue, chances for a strong Eastern US cyclone next weekend could increase. A very volatile setup.

Whenever my wife calls me a weather nerd, which happens surprisingly often, I remind her of your story from 2016 as a way to center her perspective. Yeah, it doesn’t work that well. She just comes back with some snippy comment like, “safety in numbers is a fallacy…”.  Ha. You are semi-famous in casa de das.

After just telling my family I booked a backup flight for Friday I told them @mattie g’s story to try and help my case. They weren’t any more sympathetic

I honestly don’t think we’ll get a huge storm in these parts this weekend. Snow? More than likely, but I can’t get on board with the GFS right now.
