Imagine that zone forecast…snow heavy at times new snowfall amounts 25-35 inches.

Saw that in 2016 from the NWS point and click forecast down here for Afton Mt ... 24 to 36 for just that Friday night as the energy transfer occurred....

not f’ing joking. Can’t even entertain a scenario where I can’t book a flight later this week in advance of the blizzard of the century. Hope I cancel this ticket still, quite frankly

I wouldn't count on it happening at this point. You still live in metro DC don't forget.

I’ve told this story many times, but I was able to convince people that we needed to shut down a conference in California in January 2016 because we wouldn’t be able to get home for a week if we stayed.

Worked a charm. I was the first to rebook my flight (red eye from LAX) and will never forget my elation while on the people mover at Dulles on the morning that storm started.

I remember when you told it in real time. It was ingenious.

I was freaking the f*ck out…like seriously in hysterics…at the possibility of missing that storm. I probably would have left and taken the chance at losing my job rather than miss that beast.

What a loser.

Hahaha!  I also remember that @mattie g, where you were making plans to come back to this area in time for that Jan. 2016 blizzard!  I also remember the...uhhhh, how to put it..."guitar player" icon you used for your avatar during that event (he was strumming...something...that's for sure!)!!!   (Was that REALLY almost exactly 9 years ago now?!?!)
