CPcantmeasuresnow
0.6 inches for 3 1/2 hours of continuous snow. I think I can safely say 3-4 inches is out of the equation. 26° and snow continues.

This winter is a drag for me despite the continuous cold and small snow cover. Getting tired of these piddly snow events without a big one to celebrate. Nickling and diming our way to average snowfall. So dull. Definitely better than last year though. So many southern sliders this winter. is Julian still here? I'm around! Not much to add to what you said - my interest in these minor snowfalls has been suffering a little. It's nice to see frequent snow, but I'm not as motivated to comb through the soundings trying to figure out whether to expect 2" or 3.5". Overall I'm ready to move on to spring for the same reasons as you, especially if we can't get a bigger event to shape up.

I realize it's not a trackable event, but does the constant snow cover do anything for you? I'm at 40 days for the season right now and 24 of the last 26 days since the 8 inches on Jan 19th. That and the sub zero days and the 28.9 inches so far at least makes this winter feel normal again unlike the last two atrocities.
wishcast_hater
I don’t think I will ever be happy unless we get blockbusters but I know that’s unrealistic. I am happy we have had snow on the ground for the majority of winter - it definitely makes me happy but it’s not deep enough to really have the kids enjoy it. Hopefully tomorrow the models bring the Thursday storm back up here. .

It's been pretty patchy at times imby (today would have been a T for depth with mostly bare ground, for example). Definitely more deep winter appeal than the past several years, in any case

It has been a decent snowcover year down here, albeit on the small side.

Definitely more deep winter appeal than the past several years, in any case I do not, I just track the number of days with at least an inch on 80% of the ground. I would say of the 40 days so far the far majority have been in the 3-5 inch depth range.
CPcantmeasuresnow
1.3 inches with 29.6 ytd I now have 11 events of one inch or more this season 7 of them between 1.1 and 1.9 inches. It's been an interesting way to nickel and dime your way to an average snowfall season. The 8 inches from January 19 seems like a blizzard now.
crossbowftw3
Definite healthy accretion on these trees. Have made it to 32, at least The most accretion I've seen so far hovers in the .3-.4 range, with everywhere else hovering right at that .1-.25 range. IrishRob17
1.9" last night with .3 ice on top. Up to 32 (31.9) but want to raise em up higher than that.
IrishRob17
Back down to 30.8 here. One of my issues here is that the lane I live on, if you will, was plowed last night. Great. Well it's now just a sheet of ice and they typically don't salt or sand the lane so I really need that ice to go away or I may be stuck here for a while. IrishRob17
Got enough ice moved that the wife could get up the lane in her Civic with tires on their last legs and then had no issues getting to work in Middletown. 31.3 with drizzle still. crossbowftw3
finally got above 32, need this 6-8 hour melt to actually do something halfway decent to mitigate the wind risk, but not expecting much assistance

crossbowftw3
seeing reports of almost 1" ice accretion at MPO off to our SW, obviously glad that never got here

IrishRob17
I usually just hold my tongue on this type of stuff as usually I don’t see any issues. That said, I’m shocked that there is now WSW or WWA for around here with freezing rain pouring down. Sure I’m right at freezing, so the rain could go either way but the damage was already done so there is lots of ice out there now covered in water, plenty slippery enough. KMGJ just up the road still hasn’t touched freezing. Be careful out there.
crossbowftw3
Up to 35 and while the ice is sloughing/melting off, running out of time to get it all the way off. Eye testing would suggest .2-.3” on trees across my apartment complex.

IrishRob17
Up to 34 now with some wind just starting. I just went outside to get the Stratus and thought it was pouring. Well it was, ice raining down off of everything.
crossbowftw3
lower-mid 980s central pressure as of now, would mark lowest I've seen since Christmas 2022, once winds kick this is going to be a nasty affair.

crossbowftw3
Quite remarkably, never lost power overnight Today's winds will be the real test but with Thursday's storm more or less DOA it would at least afford crews time to get everyone restored relatively quickly
gravitylover
My driveway is a half inch thick clear water ice I'm afraid to move a car, if it starts to slide it may not stop until it hits something down the hill because the street below the driveway is that same ice sheet. Those bags of sand and salt I got a few days ago are gonna get much lighter soon.
