Geez, I hope everyone is well Walt. Someone mentioned in one of the other threads that there was no flu this year and I wondered where exactly they lived as it's rather rampant this year around here. Santa delivered the norovirus this year to most of my family, that wasn't fun but all are well now. Looks like Sunday l should get above freezing again.

No I think they said there was very little covid and its mostly rsv, the flu and cold this year.  It's understandable, viral spread is much more efficient in cold and dry weather (viruses remain in the air longer) -- the exact opposite of bacterial spread-- which is more efficient in warm and humid weather.

Nothing much for us in the snow - ice dept.  I was too far south in my expectations yesterday. A few sprits of snow here and there through this Tue, minor less than 1/4" amounts. The Wednesday system looks mostly on or N of I84 with best chance 1-3" accumulation n of the Ma Pike.

We do have wind chill factor tomorrow - Thursday.

Feb looks opportunistic the first 10 days via some modeling,   but no consensus on any of these being mostly snow events, not yet anyway. No new threads from me today. Have a good one.

Looks like there will be nothing to stop January setting a new record for dryness.

Aside from this Sunday afternoons-evening brief snowfall of probably under 1", which is embedded in the overall failed Thread of Jan 31-Feb2, have attached an overzealous EPS chance of one tenth inch glaze for Wed-Thu Feb 5-6. Magenta is over 50%.  Basically this points out where icing can occur.   I find the EPS can be a little too generous with icing.

So glad the rain in Friday washed a good amount of salt off the road and car…. 1.8” last night…

Ha, we had just enough glazing in the morning that they put a nice fresh, thick, layer of sparkly, crunchy crystals downright about the time it was melting off. Then the schools had a 3 hr delay when everything was just wet. Chuckle. I had about the same, 1.75  and kept most of it even though it warmed up to 45.

My car was a disaster...red car turned brownish white.  Was in the garage when it rained.  This morning I shoveled the driveway and then took out the hose and washed the car.  I guess I can check that off the list.

should be an easy 6-10" storm this weekend, and with the pattern looking rather loaded upcoming this winter might by my first shot in 4 years to meet average snows

edit: just seen the NAM, 84 hour NAM problems?

5 of the last 6 winters have been solidly below average IMBY. As noted above, this year is running close to average thus far.

Gotta say, I am enjoying this old school winter even though there havent been any big storms.

Agreed on that. Was bummed to have lost the majority off my pack but we start again. Well, wasn't much of a pack but solid snow cover of about 4" once the 6.9" settled down.

Supposedly I ended up with 2 inches today. I couldnt double check as I had left for work before the snow even started.  Looking forward to this weekend and giving my plow for my quad a workout. Keep it coming baby.
