I’m going A+ simply for the 2-day snow a few weeks ago where we had silver dollar heavies like we were in Jackson Hole

The second day unexpected fatties were awesome. Sledding on the second day of a storm with legit tennis balls coming down was an incredible experience With my 3 year old

I lived in Wilson from 2000 until 2014 and I have to tell you...that was an amazing stretch. 6 plus inches from one storm was the norm. It just wanted to snow. we had at least six 8 to 12 inch snows. That is why what is happening now is so sad. I give this winter a D even for southern wake co. What heppend to the snows of old??? That period spoiled me! I95 was hot!

The second day was awesome and I was up by Falls Lake. Felt like New England.

In this area Mother Nature (flowers, bugs, pollen) is saying we had a cold enough winter. Azaleas are still largely not out yet. That compares to some recent ones when they were out in early Feb! Also, I saw no early bugs. They’ve started coming out only over the last week or so: sand gnats, mosquitoes, wasps, etc. My favorite thing about winter is the lack of bugs to bug me. The pine pollen has been out for 1-2 weeks but that’s normal timing.

I’m already looking forward to next winter just like I do for every winter, my favorite season!

So ironically though, the Bermuda grass is coming out of dormancy quicker than normal. Strange.

One last fantasy run for old times sake?

Of course it’s the infamous Happy Hour run, when the GFS has an excuse to get drunk and be happy!

Enjoy tonight’s 0Z runs. They’ll be an hour later starting tomorrow for almost the next 8 months. :weep:

Looks like that 20% ram cutback did have an effect.

Much of tomorrow afternoon here is forecasted to be 10-15 BN due to chilly flow behind a cold front in combo with clouds and widespread rain due to a surface low forming along the Gulf coast and moving ENE to near or just south of this area. Rainfall of 2-3” will be quite possible over the next 48 hours, which would be very beneficial due to the winter having BN rainfall. The last significant rainfall event was actually with the big winter storm 1/21-2. If KSAV gets 1.34”+, it would become the wettest event since Nov 7th.

I've been getting ticks on me for weeks, and a few mosquitos on the warmest days, but no wasps etc.

I just hit 67 under mostly sunny. If we get .3+ coupled with high 70s-80 and sunny all week, it will look like early June here by next weekend
