Yea starting to think this is either plain rain or snow. Just not really a good high to funnel cold into CAD areas and even if it is freezing rain it’s looking like 31-32 degrees which obviously doesn’t accumulate efficiently

Worth watching for some sleet N of 85

Nice didn't even glance at other models that far out. I will say we have had some active weather here historically during that timeframe over the years.

As of right now it looks like northern tier counties in NC along the border will have a chance of a wintry mix before changing to rain. Southern Virginia will have a small area of mix with a sharp cutoff of snowfall. Somewhere just north of the mix line will get a big snow. Kind of a west-east look, not just CAD areas. Could be a significant snowstorm in middle Virginia

12z EPS with a jog to the south as well.

I’d honestly rather have a slight shift south in the event there’s a correction north some up until game time. Getting ready to get pretty darn excited. Been quite awhile for a pretty significant snow here.

Pack it up. Spring has sprung. Sure a few cold nights in 10 to 14 days, but it's over for most of us

Regardless of whether or not the SE gets any more significant wintry threats late this month, this progged cooldown would be important for other reasons not the least bit being Mother Nature being totally screwed up by what’s looking like the warmest 1st half of Feb in many decades in much of GA/SC/N FL. So I’m rooting hard for some cold nights and cool days.

Much of NC may be saved from that by some cold wedged rainy/mixed? days Mon-Wed.

Yep the next 2 weeks will feel wintry.  Remains to be seen if there will be any snow or ice in the SE but we’re in for a cool period.

I’ll take the bait. I think winter is over for your area, but late Feb phase 8 MJO with a neutral to weak Nina can work from the upstate north.
