Definitely trending warmer, along with being further out. Odds are slipping away. The extreme cold looks like a fantasy at this point, and whatever cold we do get, is barely cold, and out quickly.

Haven’t had a chance to digest the 18z data but my biggest takeaway from the 12z was the EPS steadily increasing amounts again for the CAD regions. Of anything at D9/10, that’s the one thing I’d prefer to have in my corner. Anything else is noise at this range.

It works the way it wants too, not based on what humans think, lol.  I've had an 8 inch spring storm, and another 4 inch one, so it just has to be cold enough in the column while rain is falling.  Not much to it.... just a convergence of factors plus exquisite timing.  I had a blizzard in mid March and it was really warm before and really warm after, but in between, bingo :)

Presidents’ Day storm 1979 says hello!  Warm leading up to storm.  Warm by the end of the week after the storm.
