It's 48F at my house right now, in Washington DC. You don't live in the city. The DCA obs site is not meant to be 100% representative of exactly where you live. The Washington metropolitan region is very large with varying differences in climate. Not sure how to more clearly explain this.
pazzo83
Basically all of the PWS in DC, Arlington, and Alexandria (the urban core) are in the upper 40s right now. This is getting tiresome. 1

I didn't go hiking today because I didn't want to see the melting going on. I'll go tomorrow lol. I've still got 97% coverage here. Only a couple steep south facing hills melted off. 1

Besides the fully exposed south-facing lawns, everything in my neighborhood is still covered, including lots of rooftops. Still got a few inches of snow all over my yard and plenty on the roof.

LordBaltimore
going off of wundermap seems like dew points were way lower than forecast even if temperatures busted high. End result for was almost definitely better for the snowpack than the alternative

On clear days, it is one of the lowest at night and one of the highest in full sun. that said, snowpack is still decent. 85-90% coverage with bare ground being south facing inclines.

Trip through the VA apps and WV turnpike was pure eye candy. Blue sky powder day. Flattop area reminded me of the CO foothills lol. 15 1

We got into the upper 40s for a little bit, but the snowpack didn't take much of a hit. Now with the wind and temps in the mid 20s, it feels incredibly wintry again.
