My low in town was -15.  The lowest I've ever recorded was -26.3 (maybe around 2011?).  I bet if that site had been there back then it would have hit -40.

lol if school had been delayed every time we got into the low teens / upper single digits growing up (this is in the Shenandoah Valley), we would've spent most of the winter going to school at 10am

In the annals of terrible management of schools, this just in from Montgomery County Schools MD. They had previously (tues evening) called a two hour delay for Thursday, in advance. Now, they have cancelled that.

i270-Temps between 19-21F. Got off onto Reichs Ford and temps ranged17-18.  Arrived at the snow field surrounded house to 16F at 3pm

Perhaps we should track snowpack. I think we may be approaching the longest number of days with visible snow on the ground. I know there was one time sow was on the ground for three weeks. 

We still have snow on our street. Which is pretty amazing.

Cabin at Deep Creek bottomed out at -12.8 this morning.  This is the lowest observation there since 2022.  The below zero readings for three consecutive nights is unprecedented for me during my time at this property going back to 2021.  Impressive cold!

Today was a beautiful winter day. I hiked out to Annopoils Rocks today. It was only about 13 degrees at the summit. Their was about 5" of powder on top of a couple inches of old snow.

Not sure what was surprising about DCA last night.  16 for a low.  Andrews was 13.  That seems like a reasonable difference.

Yeah, the differences tonight are going to be exaggerated with the warm air advection aloft but good radiational cooling conditions.  I could be +10 from IAD.
