Weather station in my backyard says 14.7 might be a tad cold but brrr regardless with fresh snowcover

Weather station says 7°.  I thought it must be an error because the local airports are 17-19°.  Checked two outdoor thermometers that also confirmed 7°.

Then checked local CWOP stations and all are in the single digits.  Very unusual.

Edit: bottomed out at 6°.

And so begins the models busting way low on temps.  All these cold blasts have ended up like 10-15 degrees warmer than the models show from 5 days out.

Yep. 28 at my house. We hit 32, kiss that 2 inch snow on snow goodbye. Hopefully the colder air can continue to filter in to cancel the out the afternoon warmup.

These squalls are a good indicator of the true Arctic air coming in. Much steeper low level lapse rates develop as 850s tank.
