SomeguyfromTakomaPark
My goal is to keep snowpack to MLK weekend. Then maybe we can get some more and keep it going. Have about 5-6 inch depth. We have a few days that will get above freezing before the next arctic blast. Not sure if we can do it.
snowfan
The ski areas are on a heater right now. Been a bit since conditions were this optimal. Canaan has reported accumulating snow every day so far this month and is now up to 44.4” on the month and a season total of 91.9”. With more upslope coming this week with the passing of the front, pretty good chance they hit 100” before next weekend.

Top of the mountain was probably 20-30 inches depth throughout the woods. All they need up there is continued cold and some decent lake fetch every so often.

We need at least a foot on the ground to ski outside of town on the mountain bike trails since its a bit boggy and rocky, so this has been great and appears to stick around for a while and even get better. Pic is of adventure yesterday with my ferocious goldendoodle

The snowpack here is thick and heavy. It will shrink down but should be fine until the cold returns.
JenkinsJinkies
With the current totals DCA got exactly the amount of snow it did last year. However at this point last year it was still waiting for its first measurable snowfall.

Yep, been flurrying to snow showers here last hour or so, that usually means Canaan and Snowshoe are getting pounded.
WEATHER53
DCA had done well during the wind cold and but its inadequacies are back today running 3-5 higher than surrounds i watched Annapolis closely during all this. It was consistently 2-3 degrees lower than DCA. Many excuse DCA over the River. Annapolis has a 5X larger and 3-5X deeper Bay. If anything Annapolis should be a degree or two milder.

dailylurker
23 in my yard on this glorious winter morning. Yesterday morning I did a 5 mile hike. I started at daybreak and was done about 10:30. It was bordering on magical level 10. This past week has cemented a "great winter" in my book regardless of what happens from here on out. I'm 5" from climo.
