Whenever I travel out of town during the winter on a trip that involves other people (meaning I’m not talking my own ski trips or such, and it’s usually some family event where turning it down would feel anti-social), it always snows. Without fail. And it’s sometimes a big one too.

The fact that I’ll be out from Jan 3-14 makes me even more confident that it’ll be a truly special stretch for this area.

I’ll be really happy for all you people, you enjoy this!

Yup. It always weathers exactly when I really don’t need it to. Usually right before or after I leave a place. Just cursed.

Sweet 18z EURO run. Rakeage between midnight-6am… will reward the sleep deprived.

OK, I admit, I initially mis-read that as "SLEET deprived" and thought "WTF?!"!!!   But yeah, if this all comes about as indicated, need to save up on sleep in the next couple of days to stay up late Sunday night!

I was forced to go on a trip to Aruba during the 2016 blizzard. It still hurts.

Now, you may not get this (unless you're a music nerd like me), but @Scarlet Pimpernel and @stormtrackerwill

Yup!  Love me some "Emperor!"  Not sure if I mentioned this but years ago when I was still living in Atlanta, I saw the Atlanta Symphony do a sort of "farewell" tour for their musical director/conductor at the time, Yoel Levi.  He did the Beethoven series, all symphonies and piano concertos.  I was fortunate enough to see some of these (I was a relatively poor grad student at the time, but dammit, who needs to eat, gotta get tickets to live Beethoven performances!), including the 5th and 9th symphonies, and the 5th piano concerto!  Just amazing!

We’re the worst here lol. 98% of people would beg to go to Aruba during a blizzard

There was a chance our return flight back into BWI was going to get cancelled because they were still digging out the runways. Everyone else I was with was excited we might get an extra day. Torture, thinking of all that glorious snow getting packed down and consolidated.

That is heartbreaking

My boss will be going to Florida at the same time and he’s thrilled to be missing the snow day. I didn’t even tell him how I really feel about it, one of those things that’s better kept to myself.

What i find hilarious is that people like forky and ji have had the exact same persona for over 20 years on here...it's like those dudes who peaked in high school and never changed like Biff in Back to the Future

i'm gay, the only thing that peaks for us in high school is depression

All - you're thinking about next Monday all wrong. Think about it. When did Carter pass on and when did King Euro start sniffing out snow next Monday? Next, look at the years Carter was in office '77-'80 for snowfall analogs for DC. See what I mean?

Don't worry DC peeps, there will be a beautiful blanket of snow when you wake up Monday morning that will last all week!
