Yea but you can make it fun in other ways. I have a big party with the family when the eagles are in it. They get to see their cousins. We set up games for them. Set off fireworks before the game (and after if they win). I’m getting too old for the go to Philly and run around broad street drunk all night thing although me and my brother did that in 2017! The police were taking hits and doing shots with us! Fun times.

When they lose they almost always beat themselves. Ravens made a few mistakes in that game but the reason they lost is the Eagles dominated in the trenches- on offense and defense. When a team has both a physical and talented O-line and D-line, it covers up other weaknesses, and even there the Eagles don't have many. It really isn't so much about Hurts, but he does need to make a few plays in the passing game. I would be surprised if the Commanders can hold the Eagles under 200 yds rushing. But if their O-line can keep Daniels pretty clean, he can make some plays downfield, and the game is close in the 4th quarter, they will have a chance. They got the mojo right now. I’m not sure it’s always the right approach but they clearly have told Hurts to play very safe and just don’t make mistakes. The handful of times they needed to open it up he was able to do it and we’ve seen him pass effectively on the past, they just feel they have such an advantage on both lines they don’t need to play that way. It’s not an accident. They invest so much into both lines. They spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on the line almost every year. 2 years ago they spent 2 first round picks on the D line in the same draft and now both are starters. They have plenty of misses but they invest so much capital in the trenches they end up with an abundance of talent there. It’s a philosophy. Well, I think it is important to remember that Jalen Hurts was done after the first drive and Kenny Picket tried to lead us to victory before our best Safety was thrown out of the game. So, there is that.
Kevin Reilly
So, I guess we don't need this winter to be saved, or do we? No one at all talking about every winter's savior over the past 5 years: Stratospheric Warming??? Not seeing any talk about this guess, it only happens in years where we are overly patient and need winter to be saved?

They went young on the OL this season and there were some growing pains early, but it paid off for the most part. They might let Stanley go if they can get younger talent there next year. There is a reason they are a top 3 rushing team year after year. D-line is talented with a good mix of youth and vets, but will be an area they will try to upgrade in the draft with all the comp picks they have.

I think the Eagles are arguably the most balanced team in the league. As a Ravens fan, the teams that scared me were those with good lines on both sides. The Eagles were able to run on us and they gave our offensive line fits, which made life really hard on Lamar. I would just worry that Hurts doesn’t do enough with his arm and Daniels continues his hot play for a team that is riding high with a lot of confidence. I will certainly be rooting for the E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles! Birds will run the ball again with Barkley, defense will do what they're doing and Hurts just has to manage the game. Daniels is a damn good rookie but going to the Linc will be something else...

Philly will use their first pick on an O/D lineman more so then any other team. It works and wins them games. Hurts was a second rounder... all he has to do is manage the team.
wasnow215
People are leaving out (and I haven't read everything on here) that Hurts has one of the highest passer ratings in the league and also top 10 yards per pass attempt. And one of the reasons the defense has played so well, is the Eagles use time of possession to keep them off the field

But I don’t think playing in Philadelphia is going to present any issues for Daniels. He went into that dome in Michigan last week and faced a crowd that had literally waited their entire lives for that game and led the team like a ten-year vet. I think KC -1.5 is about the biggest gift in a couple of months. I'd be real surprised if they won this game or even were in it with 5-6 mins to go. WSH may win too though I'd be sorta worried BUF/WSH would be like LA/SD from 1994. Don't think this team is quite ready yet to hang with an offense that good in a game that big. That's what people said when they played the Lions.
Ralph Wiggum
9 minutes ago, psuhoffman said: Detroits winter was never likely to go well because they had no defense against warm intrusions due to significant losses in pressure gradients. I also think Philly 'climo' will come into play. There have been more post season/winter snowfall appearances for Philly, so that may be a factor. They are veterans in clearing snowfall while others are on the sidelines just watching. Those post winter snows are rare in Washington for a reason. Washington scares me as an Eagle fan, ngl. Philly (Siriani) is past due for throwing out his usual bullshit game plan. Everyone saying this is going to be a close game. I'm not feeling that. One of the 2 teams will rout the other. Someone is going to show up with a poor game plan. Whether that is Washington just focusing on injuring Hurts and getting burned or the Eagles trying to throw a ruse and all out air assault with Hurts getting picked 4 times dunno. But when e eryone says close game, expect the opposite. Good luck, may the better prepared team win!

CAPE
Looks like the Saints are the only team left with a HC vacancy. I don't believe they have even mentioned interviewing Monken. Seems likely he will be back with the Ravens as OC. I like Monken, but he needs to work on his play calling in key situations in the game. Still wants to pass in cases where it makes more sense to run Henry. And the design and execution on the 2-point conversions left a lot to be desired- and again favoring passing with a reluctance to go heavy and slam it in with Henry. Might seem like nitpicks but have been critical in key moments of important games. Go back and look at the sequence preceding the Tucker FG in the second quarter last Sunday. They had the ball at the 2 yd line! Should have scored a TD there. With the other mistakes overshadowing, this big missed opportunity seemingly went unnoticed in the end. Run the damn ball... But Siriani when playing Carolina who was ranked dead last againt the run decided to pass and avoided running. He is a strange coach and can be consistent asf for 6 straight....just deadly, then have a game totally against anything they had done all season and you just scratch your head. My theory is you come out doing what got you the dubs all season and adjust during the game as needed. Dont adjust to your opponent before the ball is even kicked off.

Terpeast
Everybody is expecting the eagles to feed barkley and for him to run for 200+ yards. What if, just maybe, commanders stop barkley and hold him to less than 120 yards and pull out an upset over the eagles? Before saying that’ll never happen, remember what people were saying before the lions game.

Before saying that’ll never happen, remember what people were saying before the lions game. I think they could stop him. But if they do it by stacking the line the way they did back in December Hurts likely picks them apart. I rewatched that game and they were so focused on stopping the run there were receivers so wide open, including the drop that would have iced the game. But Picket missed several wide open easy throws and they kept trying to run way too much into a stacked line. I kinda hope they do try to duplicate that game plan. I think the eagles score 40 if they do.
