Went mostly remote during COVID (all in-office before that), then the announcement came in the beginning of this year to be in the office three days per week. Luckily, at the same time my company needed someone with my specific skills to run another program whose team has been fully distributed (per the contract) since before COVID. Been a nice move for many reasons, and working from home is definitely up there (especially because the old project may be back in the office full time soon)!

Nice! I had to be in once a week for the last year or so, but recently switched positions and now report to our Syracuse office, so now I'm fully remote and only head into one of the MD offices when I want to. It's quite lovely hahaha.

My entire professional career has been hybrid... feel like the rug is gonna get pulled out from me soon, though (government-adjacent work)

there are benefits to it: get to wear my pjs, save money on gas/lunch, flexible hours that fit my life. I do miss seeing people but not enough to want to be in person all the time.

That's awesome - being able to go into the office on your own schedule is huge! It's such a life changer.

I get that there are plenty of people who like being in an office, but I'm not one of them!

Yeah I'm not one of them either. I go in to have lunches or happy hours with folks. Could have gone in today as I have an appointment south of my office at 4, but didn't want to be there the first day after the holidays so will just drive down hahaha

I'm on a government contract, but as I had mentioned our contract specifically states that we work from "contractor site." The government can't say that "contractor site" means an actual office, nor can it track whether people are in an office even if they wanted to. My company has no desire to spend the money on more office space, though we do have offices around the country now, but not nearly enough to support all of the employees.

Aren’t you like barely out of college? Maybe I was wrong but I remember a conservation before when you were just getting started. Might have you confused with someone else.

Correct - it’ll be 3 years out in May. So it’s a product of COVID, really.

We mirror our client, went from full remote, to 2-day, to “3”-day hybrid. Dunno what the next years will bring.

That's what my previous project did, but now there's talk of in-office with the option for remote flexibility when needed. This, despite my team proving to be more productive since we went remote. Same old story pretty much everywhere, but we gotta prop up the commercial real estate moguls!

If I were a betting man, and I’m not, I’d put $500 on 1” or less. Or a bottle of JW red

Don’t even get me started on them. Your pbp is BETTER than their forecasting. That says something.
