@WEATHER53

Wanted to answer your question. We sold our Rockville house in early September. All pre-planned over the last 4 years or so. We've wanted out of HCOL MoCo and unfriendly crowds for a decade but kids, schools, and all that jazz doesn't allow life to be simple lol.

We chose the general Smith Mtn lake area because it's a recreational paradise with minimal cost of living unless you want a lake front McMansion. Everything is a fraction of the cost and we downsized so financial stress is gone. Which is massively important because that stress was stealing years from me in MD.

We have a 25 acre tract of land in a remote section of Pittsylvania County with Leesville lake access. We also have a simple little place in Penhook with Smith Mtn lake access that serves as home base for now until we build our home on the land. The 2 properties are only 3 miles apart with a helicopter but a 20 minute drive due to topography and minimal roads lol.

Snow climo here is basically Roanoke so a downgrade there. I've stopped caring about that. Too many factors offset it and I've spent enough time chasing ghosts hahaha

I always buy my oysters from JJ McDonnell in the Jessup area to shuck and steam myself. Three beers on tap here right now too. Wish you all lived closer!

Well it’s a start .  I used to fresh shuck at home .  I’ll knock em down at your place or choice of place.  Just ask Randy or Matt, I’m very pleasant in real  life!!

I remember you on 936-1212 doing Halloween forecasts.  You have to be pleasant.

Call 202-589-1212 as that’s our contract now. I’ll be on today and tomorrow after 4pm .  An ad, then current conditions, then the forecast .

im going to use the code  words “winter wonderland” in the forecast which is my way of saying Hi to everyone.

Do you solely steam or do rawbies also?  Takes me 30 mins to get to Ravens stadium so I know Baltimore area

Me and some non weather nuts hit Harris on Kent Island for Friday night oyster buffet .  Put some combined weather nuts and oyster nuts there and we would have a Big Time !!

Cool that you still do the forecast!  And yes, I definitely shuck and do oysters raw.  Built a little oyster board for just that.  The nice thing about buying them from a place like JJ's is getting the nice salty Massachusetts and Canadian oysters.  Usually about a hundred bucks for a 100 count.  Chesapeake wild and even the local farm raised are a little bit cheaper.  Still darn good though.

I've been buying oysters and shucking them at home.   I do Rockefeller and raw.
