bncho
There's another plane that just crashed in Philadelphia.
Jebman
Just saw that. Everything is on X. Hope people are okay. No way I am ever gonna fly again. I am keeping this kind of muted because of the latest disaster in Philadelphia, but 7 inches of moisture associated with an AR will fall on the Tahoe region. Not the best time to be there right now, especially in the lowlands. But the main concern is the disaster unfolding in Philadelphia and hoping people are okay. You can hear people crying in the vids. https://x.com/i/trending/1885484446494679488

Smh Ya know, when 2025 started with the out of nowhere ISIS attack in Nola followed by somebody else blowing himself up...I started womder whether this year was gonna be on some bullcrap. So far....goodness gracious what a year this month has been! Praying for better days ahead. P.S. At least among all this we've the best deep winter month we've had in years
nj2va
Found out yesterday that two colleagues at my firm were on the AA plane. I had worked with one of them a few years ago on various projects. Just so awful for all these families. I hope and pray that the victims did not suffer.

I am so sorry - absolutely crushing.
Jebman
Terrible in Philly. Neighborhoods evacuated, goons tryin to break in homes, body parts laying around the crash scene. Police don't have enough tape to cordon off the area. One man was reportedly running away from the crash, on fire. This is way beyond horrific! Has the world gone mad? Oh no, not them (it hasn’t been released in the media stories I’ve seen) but all the victim stories are so hard to read. Especially the WSJ’s story last night showing the text message exchange between a mother / daughter right before the daughter boarded the plane. Then the mother asked “Did you land?” - horrible.

And 300 feet definitely makes a difference...The ridge I am on has about a 250 ft difference on one side and 350 on the other. I am about 1050 and the neighborhood on one side is at about 800 ft and on the other about 750. In marginal setups when the temperature is close to freezing it can make a huge difference. Earlier this winter I got 4" and the neighborhood below got about 1.5". There was a storm a few years ago I got 3" and there was only a slushy coating below. Obviously in a cold storm it makes less difference but we have not had a lot of those lately...especially on the coastal plain. Interesting! Thanks. Yep Iron Hill. Thats amazing how such small elevation changes can make a significant difference. But I've driven up there on marginal events and what it nothing for me, could be an inch for them.
